BA STAR Smoky Eye Shadow Palette {Review}

Creating smoky eyes or a tri-colored eye look is not as difficult as most would think. One of the easiest and quickest ways to create a simple smoky eye is by using eye shadows in shades that compliment one another or for even quicker full-proof eye makeup, look for an eye shadow palette designed for smoky eyes specifically.

For example, take a look at this photo of the Smokey Eye Shadow Palette by BA STAR.

Beginning at the top of the palette you will see that the first three eye shadows are used for creating a Natural smoky eye. The three color shades {from top to middle} are: Bronze, Cocoa, and Nude. These three eye shadows can be easily worn by themselves which would work perfectly for everyday wear. Now, if you are like me, and you rather add a touch of "pop" to your eye makeup, then the two gel glitters {Gold and Crystal} can be applied.

Here are the swatches of each eye shadow on my arm.  Being that my skin is medium toned, these semi-neutral colors will work rather well on their own.  Of the two gel glitters, Gold is a lot more pigmented than the Crystal gel color.

This is the final Natural Smoky Eye look that I created using this palette. Here is exactly what I did:

1. Applied an eye lid primer to entire eye lid area.
2. Using a matte white shadow, I applied this over the entire lid as my base. {a white base will make any shade of eye shadow appear more vibrant}
3. Using a flat eye shadow brush, I applied Cocoa beginning at the lash line and ending exactly at the crease.
4. Using the same tool, I then applied Bronze at the crease, right where the darker shade stopped. Then using a blending brush, moving it side to side I blended this shade so there are no "harsh" lines in between colors.
5. Lastly, I applied Nude directly under my brow.

This look could have ended there, but I wanted to see what the gel glitters would look like, so using the sponge applicator that came included in the palette, I applied some of the Gold gel glitter to the inner part of my lid right above the lash line. Adding just a little touch of Gold helped add a nice sparkle to the eyes.

If you find yourself feeling a little more adventurous or if going out during the late hours of the night, you can easily add some drama by applying one of the gel glitters over the entire lid ending at the crease, or as a highlighter under your brow.

By now, you may be asking yourself:  "what is this new beauty supplement?" and "how does it work?" Allow me to answer both questions...

The Beauty Bursts Gourmet Collagen Soft Chews is a new type of beauty supplement that has been added to NeoCell's "Beauty from Within" product line. The purpose of these soft chews is to feed our skin from the inside - out with a sweet burst of nutrients that our skin needs in order to thrive and become more youthful. Each soft chew is made with the following nutrients: Collagen Type 1&3, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C.

Question is, how do these three nutrients help our bodies?

Collagen Type 1&3 is a protein that we need to maintain strong hair, nails and skin. Collagen's main purpose is to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by improving elasticity in the skin.

By taking two (2) soft chews {the recommended dosage} on a daily basis, you are feeding your skin with 2,000 mg of Super Collagen™ types 1 & 3, 20 mg of hyaluronic acid and 20 mg of vitamin C. These soft chews do not contain any lactose, gluten or artificial flavors; however, these do contain soy and have a caloric value of 40 calories. Each Beauty Burst package contains a total of 60 chews - an entire month's worth of dietary supplements. This beauty supplement are available in two flavors: Super Fruit Punch and Fresh Mint Chocolate.

My thoughts:

Being that I am not a huge fan of chocolate, I opted to receive and try out the Super Fruit Punch flavored Beauty Bursts {as seen in above photo}. If I had to compare the flavor, I would have to say that these soft chews remind me of Now-n-Later candies. The soft chew is not overly sweet and is very easy to chew - the consistency is somewhat similar to soft taffy.

I prefer eating my soft chews first thing in the morning before I eat or drink anything. In my opinion, I think this is the best way being that my body has rested all night and I have not ingested any other foods that might conflict with the ingredients inside the supplements. So far, I can see that my skin feels more taught, my skin has not broken out since I started taking these soft chews - which for me is a HUGE plus being that during the past few months my skin has been quite angry with me.

Would I recommend these Beauty Bursts?

Absolutely. Not only are the results evident within a few days, there are no stressing side-effects. Another plus about this product is that it's easy to consume, unlike most beauty supplements which are in the form of large pills or capsules that prove to be very hard to swallow. With these gourmet collagen soft chews all you have to do is unwrap it, pop it into your mouth and chew....easy! Just the way I like it!

Special Edition Monthly Makeup Box from Starlooks

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

Let me just say that I have been away for too long and have really been missing you all! To give you a quick update: We were in the process of moving/relocating which is why it took a while for us to upload an updated post. Now that our servers and networks are up and running {since early this morning, yay!} I wanted to make sure that the very first post was about Starlook's February Starbox.

First, let me tell you that this particular monthly makeup box was a Special Edition Starbox. The makeup included were all demoed and recommended by professional MUA Lauren Clark.

To give you a little background about Lauren Clark, she has been in the makeup industry for over 10 yrs. Princess Diaries Eye Liner: This eye liner is waterproof and smudge-proof. The eye liner is versatile: it can be worn as a liner for either the top or lower lashes or as an eye-shadow.

HD Fluid Blush in Barbie:   A very saturated blush tint that is perfect for creating a light, spring glow to the cheeks. As seen in the video, this blush can be applied with your fingers or by using a blush brush - either way, you will certainly have a rosy glow in no time.

Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy: Creamy and highly pigmented lip pencil can be used to line the lips or as an overall lip color. This lip pencil has a soft matte finish - the perfect canvas for applying a little gloss to enhance fullness in the lips.

Pink Oasis Lip Gloss: Lip gloss is very sheer with flecks of sparkles. When applied to nude lips the gloss is a soft hue of lavender. This non-sticky lip gloss is a must for this spring season.

When I received the Black Butterfly Maggie Bag {as shown above} I was completely surprised by its overall appearance of the bag and quality.

The Butterfly Bag is what I like to refer to as "heavy-duty-must-have" accessory.

For someone like me, who spends about 80-85% on call with clients, I need to have handbags that are durable, stitched tightly, roomy, easy to carry and of course, the handbag needs to be fashionable. The Butterfly Handbag fits this description perfectly.

The inside of the handbag, which has a deep purple satin lining, is wide enough to hold everything I need to have with me: one laptop with an attached cooling fan, one iPad 2 with its keyboard, about three file folders and one notepad. Even with all of this packed nicely on the inside, there is a zipper compartment on the back panel, a side pocket, and three smaller pockets located conveniently on the front panel. All these smaller compartments are perfect for holding my wallet, small makeup kit and my writing tools. Surrounding the outer body of the handbag are an additional four pockets - this is where I keep my digital camera, chargers, iPhone and truck keys.

So as you can tell, I can easily carry my entire office with me and no one would know otherwise. Why? Easy, everyone that has seen the Butterfly Bag is automatically drawn to it because of how sleek and stylish the bag is.

I mention stylish because even though I am using the bag for work purposes, the Butterfly handbag can easily be styled with a casual everyday outfit.

In the photo above, I am wearing a leather jacket on top of a colorful maxi dress - This just happens to be one of my go-to work outfits. It is simple yet pulled together. The best part of this outfit is that I do not need to carry more than one handbag. Everything I need fits right inside the gorgeously trendy Butterfly handbag...and I love that!
