Get flawless skin coverage with L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

Earlier this week we shared tips on how to keep makeup looking fresh longer {to see post click HERE}. We mentioned that before executing the simple four step makeup application it is important to apply a foundation or BB cream to your skin.

Several cosmetic companies, both high end and drugstore brands, have given into the beauty balm craze by designing their own particular version. There are so many different BB Creams in the market that trying to keep up with them can be frustrating, not to mention time consuming. Here in the offices, we have certainly had a "go at it" by playing with several different versions of BB creams as well as comparing them to one another. Some are just okay, while others are just awesome products.

One of the BB Creams that stood out the most was L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream.

This is not the only BB Cream that L'Oreal has in the market, however this one is special - This is an all -in-one beauty solution that is formulated to do all of the following: prime, perfect, hydrate and correct skin.

When the BB Cream is released from the tube, it is white in color; however when you look at the cream up-close you can see that it has tiny gray beads in it. The texture of the BB Cream is very thin,  light, almost on the watery side of liquids.

After a few stokes of blending the BB Cream, the color of the liquid begins to change. The little gray beads in the cream are self adjusting - meaning that with the help of these tiny beads the cream will instantly transform into your skin tone.

As you can see in this photo, just after a few blending strokes, the BB Cream went from white to a beautiful medium skin tone.

Now let's take a look at what L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream looks like on your skin.

In this photo, you can see that the BB Cream definitely gives your skin an even color and texture. What I prefer to do is put a dot or so of BB Cream on  the back of my hand, then using my ring finger I dab the cream on my forehead, cheeks, chin and neck.

Then in gentle blending motion, using the tips of my fingers I proceed to blend in the cream into my skin just the same way I apply any other type of facial lotion. I noticed that the BB Cream does not take long to blend and when it has fully dried, your skin does not feel wet or sticky. The texture of your skin is soft and hydrated.

One of the four beautifying actions that this BB Cream is supposed to do is correct skin. At first, I will admit that I was very skeptical - thinking that the cream is so light in consistency that it is going to be impossible for it to correct my skin because unfortunately, I have been dealing with adult breakouts on my jawline and neck of all places.

I was proven wrong. The BB Cream not only provided a good coverage, but it also helped camouflage the redness around the breakouts.  I did use a tad bit of concealer on top of certain areas, but that was only because I do that regardless of what product I use. However, with that being said, the BB Cream gave my skin such a flawless look, I only used a little loose powder on my t-zone to avoid excess oil from forming as I have very oily skin.

So, if I had to rate the L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest rate possible, I would certainly give this BB Cream a solid 5.  Not only does the product perform the way it is formulated to, but this BB cream can be used everyday either as a primer or completely by itself.  I love that!

To get your hands on a tube of your own, you can check out the makeup aisle at any Drugstore or order it here and save about 50%.

Now it's YOUR turn: Have you tried L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream yet? If so, or even if you have not had a chance yet, let us know in the comments!

Let's "Take A Load Off" Together

Did you hear the buzz about a special sweepstakes being offered by Tide and Future Friendly? If you haven't then this post is for you!

In celebration of #EarthDay, both Tide and Future Friendly are reaching out to all of us by motivating us to make a difference by washing our clothes in cold water.

Why is this so important? Well, by washing our laundry in hot water we are unknowingly contributing to about 80% of the excess energy that is used in the U.S.  Therefore, by making the simple change of washing laundry in cold water, we will be helping save energy instead!

With this in mind, Tide and Future Friendly has launched the sweepstakes "Take A Load Off"

To participate in this fabulous giveaway, here is what you need to do:

First, make a promise to switch washing in cold water on the Future Friendly Facebook Page. When you do, you have a chance at winning a High Efficiency Washer & Dryer PLUS one year supply of Tide Coldwater.

Is that not just fabulous?

Okay, you may be thinking that this is it,  but guess what?  You can enter the giveaway DAILY to increase the chances of your name being selected! A new winner will be picked each week until May 13th.

Honestly, this is a great chance for all of us to make a difference this #EarthDay. But, did you know that there are other simple things we can do everyday in order to save energy?

Here are a few more ideas that we can do in addition to washing our laundry in cold water:

•When grocery shopping, purchase organic fruits and vegetables. You can do this two different ways: browse through the organic section in your favorite supermarket or better yet, take time to visit your local food markets.

•Avoid purchasing and using chlorinated household cleaners. These types of products have been linked to causing cancer. Instead use these alternatives: baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, lemon and vinegar.

•When in need of purchasing any type of beauty or skin care product, take a few minutes to read the label listing the ingredients inside product. Try to buy the products that do not contain triclosan - this ingredient can be very toxic for your skin.

•Save energy in your home by turning off the lights when you leave a room.

•If you have several electrical appliances (tv, computers, printers, ect) try plugging these in by using a electrical extension cord with a built in switch, this way you can turn off the power cord at night and save energy this way.

See how easy it is to save energy everyday and at the same time take care of our planet?

Okay, now let's recap some important details:

Simple Skincare

If you are anything like me you try your best to stay abreast of all the new latest skin products. Sometimes it becomes a challenge because there are so many different brands that are being made and each one tries to sell it the public promising great results.

But, let me ask you this: Do you always get the results brands promise? Not always, huh.

This is one of the many reasons I enjoy being a part of the shespeaks community. I was given the opportunity to participate in their Walgreens Simple Skincare Program. Basically, all I had to do was visit my local Walgreens store (which was not hard for me to do - I go there all the time!) and once there, speak to the Beauty Advisor about the New Simple Skincare Line. Easy as pie, right?

Right! Luckily for me, my Walgreens in Gahanna, Oh is by far the best pharmacy to go shopping at. The cashiers are very friendly and the Beauty Advisor was also helpful. They had the Simple Skincare Display right there where the Beauty Advisor's cash register was at. It would have been very hard to miss. (please notice the above photo)

Along the side of the display, there was also a small flyer describing the product line and inside there was a $1 off coupon. The Beauty Advisor was knowledgeable enough to point that put for me.

As a result of sharing this information with the team at shespeaks - I was sent a sample of a Simple Skincare product to try and review. The product I received was the Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub.

A day after I received the Facial Scrub I decided to use it after my evening shower. I was caught off guard by the soft smell of the scrub. The fragrance is more "natural" smelling - it doesn't smell like perfume, like some other facial products I have used before.

The scrub has these little "rice granules" in it- this is what exfoliates the surface of the skin. Immediately after I used the scrub I noticed a few things: (1) the rice granules do not scratch or irritate skin (2) the scrub is light but not runny (3) the scrub rinses off quite easily and (4) my skin feels refreshed.

I am really enjoying this facial scrub. It is gentle enough to use twice a day. I tend to use it in the morning as a "wake up call" as well as at night, before going to bed, in my opinion the scrub washes the daily stresses away.

So, ladies please trust me when I tell you: the Simple Skincare product line is well worth the cost!
