Steal This Look: Loose Sexy Waves for Long Hair

loose sexy waves for long hair

This year during the People En Espanol's 50 Mas Bellos Red Carpet Event held at the Marquee in NYC, the beautiful actress and singer Maite Perroni dazzled everyone. Maite showed up on the Red Carpet  in a very modern silver and gold sequined short- length jumpsuit, celebrating her fifth nomination as one of People en EspaƱol’s 50 Most Beautiful.

Not only did Maite's stylist, Irma Martinez {ambassador for P&G} do an amazing job, Maite's long loose sexy waves caught our attention as well.

Renowned hairstylist, Antonio Rosales tells us exactly how he created that wavy loose hairstyle to complement Maite’s look and how to get those soft, voluminous and seductive waves.

Steal This Look in Five Easy Steps:

Step 1: To start transforming Maite’s natural straight hair, I applied Pantene Heat Protection Spray to protect hair from heat damage and prepare for styling.

Step 2: I divided the hair on top of the head in two sections and used two large rollers, one for each side of the head to add volume at the root.

Step 3: After the top hair has been rolled, I sectioned the bottom hair in ½ inch sections and used a curling iron to create many closed waves.

Step 4: Once all hair was completely wavy, I removed the two rollers and asked Maite to flip her head back to be able to finger comb her waves to loosen them up and transform into soft waves.

Step 5: And finally, I couldn't let her go without my final touch! I sprayed Pantene Pro-V Stylers Flexible Hold Hairspray throughout Maite's long hair to maintain the volume and seal the style so it will last all night.

How to Get the "Tousled Wavy" Effect for Your Hair

The Tousled Wavy hairstyle has been trending for quite a while now. Some of us may think that we cannot style our hair this way because it is either too short, too thin, or we are just not that fortunate to have a hair stylist at home with us 24/7.

What if I told you that there is an easy way to achieve the tousled wavy hairstyle at home without the need of a hair stylist? It is possible, thank you to the editors of  Total Beauty.

Total Beauty
has simplified this hair style process:

Step 1 = Prep Hair in shower by using products that will moisturize hair and control frizz.

Step 2 = Towel dry hair. Now you need some product: (1) if your hair is curly- use a little bit of gel (2) if your hair is straight or fine- use a volumizing mouse through out hair.

Step 3 = Blow Dry hair. You want to flip your over, use a diffuser (if you have one)if not just use your normal hair dryer. You want to make sure your hair is partially dry - Total Beauty recommends hair should be 85% dry only -

Okay, these are the basic three (3) steps for every hair length. Please click on the appropriate photo below for your hair length to see the remaining detailed steps for finishing the Tousled Hair Look.

For Short Hair:

Step Four - Six

For Medium Length Hair:

Steps Four and Five

Step Six thru Nine

For Long Hair:
Steps Four thru Seven

Now It's Your Turn: Do you think you can achieve this look by following these easy steps?

Top 4 Hairstyles for Long Sexy Hair

Having long hair does not need to be complicated nor boring. Here are my Top 4  picks for those who have long hair or for  those of us, like myself, who are growing out their tresses in hopes of having a longer mane.

These two styles are perfect for this length of hair. You can either wear the cut: super sleek or with soft curls. Both styles are great for women with naturally straight hair. Using a flat-iron will allow you to achieve the super sleek look. For soft flowing curls, use the flat-iron by twisting it around pieces of hair; or you can do it with a curling iron, even old-fashion rollers will work.

What I really like about these hairstyles are the soft waves. The style works well with or without bangs. Another reason why I chose these photos is because of the hair-colors. The darker and lighter shade of brown have a nice glossy appearance, which can easily be achieved without having to visit a salon.

Now it's your turn, what are your thoughts? Do you love or hate these styles? Any favorite hairstyles you would like to share with us?
