Amazing Designer Apparel Outfits Under $100

Happy Friday Fashion-istas! Today we all have an excuse to do some shopping because today we get to celebrate National Thrift Shop Day!

In true fashion, shopping at thrift stores is something that has become quite trendy. Until recently I had never experienced shopping at a thrift store. It just so happens that while running a few errands in the city of Dublin a few weeks ago, my daughter saw this store and asked if we could stop to see what it was like.

So we did.

Going into Platos Closet was an experience. The store was extremely clean and well organized. The clothing is sectioned out by size and color. Among the pieces of clothing, we were able to find quite a few affordable designer pieces. Other than the endless racks of designer labeled clothing, there was a wall of the store dedicated to only accessories - jewelry, handbags, scarves, sunglasses, and everything you can imagine.

Now, it did take us a while to sift through the clothing, however it was worth the hassle. Between my daughter and I, we were able to find a few trendy designer pieces great for her to wear as school outfits.

Here is a list of what we bought:

  • SD II gray Skirt - $3
  • Aeropostale blue Tee - $3
  • Vega Jeans blue-purple leather jacket - $6
  • Aeropostale pink Tee - $3
  • No Boundaries olive Tee - $1.50
  • Forever 21 demin Leggings - $2
  • Spring Street checkered Skirt - $4
  • XXI striped v-neck Tee - $1
  • Nike black & pink Boots - $25
  • Self Esteem plaid Jacket - $15
  • Misc. Accessories - $9 (pink LEI purse, bangles, two leather belts)

To see a slideshow of these outfits please see my article: National Thrift Shop Day: Platos Closet

Now it's your turn: Is there a Platos Closet near you? If not, what thrift stores have you shopped at? Please share your shopping experiences and tips with us - We love to hear from you!

How to get the Violet Femme Fatal Look

Wearing bold colors on eyelids is not the only trend noticed on the runway this year. Another eye beauty makeup trend is using hues of pink, purples and lilacs blended together for a smoldering seductive stare.

To achieve this look, there are a few products that are needed.

I-mark Violet Femme shades

Application:

(1) apply a thin layer of eye primer to eyelids and under lower eyelashes

(2) using the i-mark shade violet ink (darkest shade) over the lids going up to the crease and along the lower lash lines

(3) apply i-mark shade pink dust on lids from crease going up to brow bone - make sure to blend this shade in as well as you can

(4) apply third i-mark shade mystical (lighter purple) in the inner corners of eyes

(5) apply eyeliner to the lower lash line

(6) apply mascara to both upper and lower lashes

Next, to achieve the over-all face Highlights, you will need this product.

Kiss Nail Dress

Here is my nail design

The Kiss Nail Dress really does what it claims: it sticks. I received a complimentary package of  Kiss Nail Dress  in my Influenster #LoveVoxBox which I have used to test and post this review.

Kiss Nail Dress are nail stickers that have fashion jeweled designs on them. The box has 28 stickers - each strip comes with 12 stickers in different sizes to fit both nails and toes. Inside the package is also a nail file - which came in handy when I used the file to contour the edges of the strips so they were flush with my own nails.

This strip has stickers fit for your nails and nail file

These are the nail strips for your toes - the sizes are bigger than those for hands

Application of the jeweled strips is extremely easy. So easy, even my nine year old daughter applied them in matter of minutes!
Here is Lil Diva's nail style

The strips are sturdy which lets them stand up very well when exposed to water. For me this is an added bonus - I spend lots of time in the kitchen cooking and washing dishes. As of today, I have had them on for about 5 days - there is no bunching, the strips are still intact covering the entire nail surface! According to the Kiss Nail Dress packaging, these strips can last up to 10 days, but I am confident these can last longer.

The strips I received are named "Cocktail". They are pink zebra stripes with jewels. I was glad to see that Kiss has 18 different fashion forward styles to choose from.

Check out the 18 Styles Here:

It doesn't end there! If you go to Kiss Nail Dress you will find tips on how to create different styles using the nail strips. So, no matter what style of nail art you are into, I'm positive that the Kiss Nail Dress has the perfect style you're looking for!

Where to Buy
Nail Dress’ suggested retail is $6.99 and is available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.

*Disclaimer: The products included in the #lovevoxbox received from influester.com were sent to me for review as part of the VoxBox program - which is completely complimentary. However, ALL photos, videos and opinions are 100% my own.

JCP: Fair and Square

As if we didn't love spending some of our hard earned money at JCPenny, they have revamped their marketing. Now we don't have to worry about missing a sale, expiring coupons, or being hassled when we have to return an item.

I am, of course, super excited about this change. I was never much of a fan of JCPenny as a young adult, however, now as a wife, mother, and a wiser shopper, JCPenny has become on of my favorites. I can always shop there for my daughter, my husband, or anything for the home, always sure that I will find great savings.

How about you? Are you excited about the NEW changes to JCPenny? Do you plan to go shopping today, or are you waiting for the masses to "die down" before going?

Dress Ideas for Valentine's Day

We have already passed the half-way mark for the month of January which means that Valentine's Day is literally upon us. As we all get excited about what gifts we are getting, a question that we often add to our excitement and anticipation is: "what should I wear?"

Luckily for all of us, the writers at Cosmo, were nice enough to put a selection of  11 Valentine Dresses together. I had a chance to look through the slideshow, here are my top four (4) faves:

Panel Bodycon Dress, $50
Pleated Strapless Dress with Curved Neckline, $44
Multiway Dress, $50
Lush 'Harper' Chiffon Dress, $46

As you can see, these are great Valentine Dress options. Another reason to get these would be because of the prices. Of these top four (4), the most expensive dress is only $55...That's a steal!

If you want to see the entire slideshow please visit:  cosmo.com

Please don't forget: If you do decide to buy any of these dresses, come back to share the news with us! We would love to hear from you!
